Agfa's newest Azura clean-out unit at Africa Print

FULL STORY
Patented technology in Azura CX125 helps printers handle annual plate volumes up to 40,000 sq/m for environment-friendly Azura TS chemistry-free plate processing.

The Azura CX125 COU, Agfa Graphics’ newest clean-out unit, now brings its industry-leading Azura TS chemistry-free thermal plates to high-volume users as well.

This new system, with its innovative small footprint, boasts an additional 60 per cent reduction in gum consumption as compared to the well known and worldwide adopted Azura standard. In addition, the patented technology greatly extends bath life, so meeting the demands of higher volume users of Azura TS thermal plates.

The CX125 COU, which can accommodate plate widths up to 1250mm, is designed to handle plate volumes up to 40,000 sq/m. With a bath life of up to 7000 sq/m, maintenance is further reduced and greater productivity made possible when compared with traditional thermal processors.

Commented Ralph Hilsdon, marketing manager, prepress systems, Agfa Graphics, ‘The patented technology in the new Azura CX125 COU clean-out unit results in reliable throughput with fewer changeovers, for greater productivity, efficiency and ease-of-use. This gives large commercial printers the benefits of stable, convenient and ecological plate-making and a lower cost of ownership for maximum efficiency and greater productivity.’

‘We will be featuring Agfa’s exciting new thermal plate technology at the at the Africa Print Expo 2012, taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, from 22 – 24 August,’ confirmed Gavin van Rensburg, chief executive of Kemtek Print Solutions.
