SDC adds Xerox DocuColor and Duplo Digital System

FULL STORY
SDC Reprographics Ltd, a digital printing firm based in Sutton, Surrey, has invested in a Xerox DocuColor 7002 digital printer and Duplo Digital System 445 booklet maker (pictured), both from Fujifilm UK. This investment, the second with Fujifilm in the last 12 months (after the installation of a Fujifilm Acuity Advance HD2545 in January 2010), will allow SDC Print to offer its customers a larger variety of small format options, including A5, A4 and A3 booklets, leaflets and flyers, in shorter turnaround times.

‘As a wholly digital production firm, we continually look at different opportunities to increase our presence and service offering in the market,’ said Julie Carter, managing director at SDC Reprographics. ‘In January, we chose Fujifilm's Acuity Advance wide-format device to replace our old printer, as it produces high quality print directly onto a large number of substrates, including banners and boards. The fantastic service and support we received led to us approaching Fujifilm again at Ipex 2010 when we were looking into small format digital and finishing devices.’

She continued, ‘At Ipex, we were able to look at all of the key players in the digital printing market. The DocuColor 7002, however, was unique in that it can duplex 300gsm card. This, together with its incomparable high quality print, will not only allow us to make massive savings on time, but also gives us the ability to offer our customers shorter turnaround times.

‘During our discussions with Fujifilm, they listened carefully to what we wanted to achieve and suggested an offline finishing solution. The Duplo device slotted in nicely with the DocuColor 7002 and, as Fujifilm had already proved to be a reliable partner with our first investment, the decision to order from them again wasn't a hard one to make.’

The DocuColor 7002 is an all-in-one digital colour press that can handle a wide range of stock, produce high-quality output and offer advanced, versatile finishing options. It has an output speed of up to 70ppm on all stock, with weights ranging between 60gsm - 300gsm.

Duplo's Digital System 445 is an economical booklet making device for digital colour print that cuts, creases and makes booklets in one pass. It has 15 different programs that offer 'load and go' unattended operation, including side trimming, producing CD size booklets and square spine finishes.

‘Fujifilm's product offering is of a very high quality, and together with its standard of service, is proving to be a trusted partner for our digital printing needs,’ said Carter. ‘We look forward to continuing our relationship with Fujifilm in the future.’
