Epson announced the global commercial launch of the Epson SurePress L-4033A digital label press at Ipex last month. The press was demonstrated throughout the show on the Epson stand.
Developed by Epson, and backed by over 40 years' of experience in developing innovative imaging products, the SurePress L-4033A is a short-run, digital label press. This highly versatile narrow-web press has been designed to print labels efficiently and profitably to meet the growing global demand for fast turnaround, low volume, and multiple version label jobs.
Easy to use and backed by Epson's reputation for reliability, the new press is aimed at label converters taking their first steps into digital printing or expanding their existing digital printing capacity, and general commercial printers looking to add digital label printing to their portfolio of services.
Since it was first shown in prototype form three years ago, the SurePress L-4033A has undergone significant development to ensure that it meets the specific needs of short-run label producers. It uses Epson's leading-edge micro piezo inkjet technology and new six-colour, water-based, pigment ink to ensure consistent, high-quality results. The press prints on a choice of off-the-shelf paper and film up to 330mm wide, at speeds of up to 5m/min. A range of third-party post-press options are available to suit specific needs.
The SurePress L-4033A has been designed to fit easily into existing digital workflows. To deliver the best control, performance and results, Epson is working with industry-leading partners on every aspect of digital label production from colour management to substrates and finishing options. Also, on the Epson stand at Ipex, EskoArtwork demonstrating the brand new digital front-end developed specifically for the SurePress L-4033A, and GM also showcased its new DC330 mini-converter.
