FULL STORY
At IPEX 2010, GMG, leading developer of high end colour management and proofing solutions, will demonstrate the company's highly innovative colour management technology for digital and large format printing, for the packaging industry and commercial printing in Hall 9.
GMG will highlight the extensive functionalities of the brand-new software application GMG SmartProfiler, which allows the creation of individual colour profiles and printer calibrations for digital and large format printing systems. GMG SmartProfiler is a wizard which enables digital and large format press users to achieve highest colour accuracy, repeatability and colour consistency with every printing system.
Users in the digital and large-format printing sectors increasingly expect high colour accuracy, repeatability and colours that match those of print media produced by traditional printing processes, such as offset or gravure printing. Many digital printing and large format systems operate in hybrid environments, e.g. with digital and offset presses. There is a clear demand that printed products must look identical regardless of the process. The same also applies to companies where several output devices of an identical or similar type are installed.
GMG SmartProfiler is available as an additional option in combination with GMG ColorServer, the company's key colour management solution on show, for processing any kind of colour conversions. This outstanding solution enables companies to greatly increase productivity, production reliability and the colour quality of their products, regardless of which printing process is applied.
Flexo and packaging print houses will learn how to produce top quality, contract level packaging proofs and mockups. The unique solution of GMG ColorServer/GMG SmartProfiler colour management software and the UV inkjet printers of the UJF-605 series from Mimaki for high value packaging applications enables digital proofing on original substrates such as shrink or metallic foils, tin and compound boards and the production of absolutely colour-accurate packaging mockups with white ink and varnish support. Nearly any printing stock can be used with the GMG/Mimaki solution. Due to the extremely resistant, high quality inks of the Mimaki printer, it is possible to apply the same finishing process as to the final product. No other solution on the market allows for this, apart from a real press proof.
The combination of GMG proofing software and the new Epson Stylus Pro WT7900 white ink printer (pictured above) is suitable for high end contone and halftone proofing on transparent or metallic foils. GMG's groundbreaking colour management technology implemented in the GMG printer driver for the Epson Stylus Pro WT7900 (pictured) provides demonstrably the best possible colour accuracy and repeatability. GMG's ColorProof contone proofing software and the halftone modules FlexoProof XG and DotProof XG exploit the expanded colour gamut of the Epson Stylus Pro WT7900 inkjet printer up to the maximum. Unrivaled quality and repeatability can be produced even for spot colours and white simulation in flexographic, offset and gravure printing.
At IPEX 2010, GMG will be exhibiting the largest ever portfolio of software solutions to colour manage the entire graphic workflow from prepress to print production in terms of completely standardised colours and printing processes. The significance of standardised printing processes has grown substantially for print houses, regardless of which printing process is applied, in order to achieve high print quality and stability while reducing costs. Offset printers, for instance, can provide best possible proof-to-print results and thereby enhance productivity and efficiency dramatically by applying uniform colour standards, chromatic ink reduction, controlling the printing process and by standardising the press itself. Thus, GMG will demonstrate the company's highly effective and easy-to-use software tools such as GMG InkOptimizer for ink reduction and GMG PrintControl and GMG RapidCheck for printing process control.
In addition to GMG's own stand, visitors can see the demonstration of GMG software solutions on several technological partners' stands. The combination of GMG ColorServer and GMG SmartProfiler driving different UV inkjet devices will be shown at Hewlett Packard Hall 12, stand AB150 and driving the VersaUV LEC-330 UV inkjet printer/cutter at Roland DG (UK) Ltd Hall 12. High end digital proofing will be on show at Canon Europe Hall 10 and Epson also in Hall 10, including packaging proofing applications with the new Epson Stylus Pro WT7900 white ink printer.
